Eaton County

About the Coalition

Overview

The Eaton Oral Health Coalition is a local public health department in south-central Michigan covering Barry and Eaton Counties. The health department is focused on incorporating policy change, environmental strategies, and community planning and development. The vision of the coalition is that Eaton County residents have the knowledge, support, and care they need to achieve the best possible oral health. The coalition strives to increase access and utilization of dental care across the lifespan, to promote positive oral health behaviors, and continue collaboration among public and private entities to work in partnership for improved health. The Eaton Oral Health Coalition aims to use funds in order to purchase and distribute oral health kits to children 0-5 years of age that are at high risk for poor dental care. Additionally, the coalition hopes to implement an education campaign in collaboration with community partners participating with the coalition to increase awareness and education surrounding oral health.
